Asians GROOVEEE...
Today was a particular eventful day as I walked around the city clicking away with my camera. This camera had generated alot of attention for me , good or otherwise. Maybe it is a rare scene to have this Asian gal wearing a pink dress and in heels to be lugging a bulky piece of equipment like that. What can I say, feminity and techie stuff aren't meant to go very well together, or so it seems.
This Aussie Asian guy in his twenties approached me, and the first thing he asked ;" Do u take Asian culture??' ( hurr? excuse me..at least tell me ur name first will you?) Apparently his name is Dorjee,he owns an entertainment company producing a mini TV series called Honey Roasted and also manages this site(www.asiagroove.com) to project the ' cool' side of Asian culture. ' I want to let people know that Asians can be really cool too, too many people fail to see this side of Asians. In their impressions Asians have greasy hair and specky look, but hey, i think Asian gals are the hottest ( he really meant it i think, i couldn't sense his intention of trying to pick me up.), the way they dress and do their make-up. Afro-americans have hip-hop and basketball, we Asians can be equally groovy no? So if u can, please provide some photos that capture hip side of Asians!
Humm... Fascinating. So i agreed to look through my collection to see if there are any photos i can provide him.

RMIT University

A perfect spring day for lounging on the grass in front of State Library.

Ahhh...DUSTBIN=FOOD for the gluttonous seagulls. They are so comic-looking when they just stand there and stareee at the street-sweeper guy, hoping he would empty the bin for them. Dream on...

Chinatownnnn....Chinese rock becoz they can thrive everywhere...

The balloon man who claimed I was his valentine for today...awwwhhh..
Later on, as i was walking, I was stopped again. This time by the Balloon Man, who is always there at Bourke Street twisting colorful balloons into quirky shapes and give them to children and girls. He insisted on making me something for free, as he drew out strips of balloons, then *blow blow*, *twist twist*, and voila! it turned out to be two teddies hugging a heart ring with another plump purple heart in the middle. One thing about Aussie men, especially the older ones, they work their charms over girls in such a smooth way that few gals would not melt. He told me that he is actually a satire comedian, and claimed that I will not be able to understand his kinda humour. ' In Malaysia u can't even make fun of the government, so I doubt u'll understand this sorta dark humour.' Well,' i said ' Not being able to express outrightly how we feel doesn't make us unable to appreciate the humour. ' We discussed about his work a bit more before he scribbled his number on a piece of paper and gave it to me. 'Text me.' He said with a wink and pecked lightly on my hand. I was amused. God knows i'll never text him but what can i say, this man is SMOOTH.
Strange encounters with two Melbourne men. But they sure had me entertained.
