Bend It . It Was Not Intended To Be Straight.

Diaryland is crippling down. Have been clicking the "add an entry" icon for at least 10 times. Yesterday clicked about 25 times and couldn't add any entry. I know I know...I am not paying a SINGLE cent for it, so i should not complain about crap service. But blogspot is free and offering a better insurance against server problems, why not?

We are brought up to be acceptable of the whole concept of causality. If u don't incur any cost in the first place, u dun deserve to gain anything of high quality. effort-> benefits. evil deeds-> retribution. So dun do bad things for u will taste your own medicine one day. But we all know, some good people do die from tragic deaths while some bad people do live scot-free life and have stashes of cash to be cremated with them when they die at 100 years old. And then comes all the after-life retribution, heaven or hell notion to appease people that your deeds do get rolled over.Ah ah, u dun get away so easily. Like bank accounts. Bad debts will be charged compounded interests in future while savings will be rewarded accordingly as well.

As much as I would like to believe that doing good or bad is a self-fulfilling prophecy; that good things will lead to more good things and vice-versa, but we also have to admit that everything is governed by randomness of events. Accidents, inequality, chaos. Justice is just a concept designed by man; the world is hell of incidental randomness.

Read an interesting article in Straits Times today. In a bid to curb the spread of HIV , there has been a change in laws in Singapore; any HIV-positive person who fails to inform his/her partner about his/her condition and have sex with her/him, can be jailed up to two years, even if he/she is UNAWARE that he/ she has the disease.

So, here, ignorance is no longer a defence for innocence. The chinese's version of 不知者无罪 no longer applies. The simple causality ignorance->innocence doesn't work here because you are not lifting yourself from the state of unknown to that of known:u can always go for a test. More severely, ur ignorance, feigned or otherwise, is endangering another person's life.

Humans were the ones who made those rules and came up with a set of principles to guide their lives; but most of the time they get enslaved by them. It is time to realise we are alive and we can bend, then so can the rules.
