Ruth and Vincent, A White Union...

All was perfect. The lawn, the weather, the sea. And there was everything a gal would want in her wedding: white chairs (by the sea), white roses arrangement on apostles, ground strewn with red rose petals...ahh...and a long white gown, and not to forget, a charming groom...:)

I had the most wonderful time at Ruth's wedding by the sea. Was early,so went around admiring the setting and took some shots. My dress and earrings didn't go with the image of a photographer with a bulky camera very well, but i m cool, so what the heck. The pristine whiteness of the whole setting pacified me within its peaceful bliss, as i tried to drink it what it all means, to have guests witness the union of two persons in untainted white sacredness, to vow to someone that u will love him/her forever regardless of poverty, sickness, hardship etc, till death do us part. Many marriages finally end up in wreck and settlements in court , but nevertheless, every marriage starts with a hopeful beginning, for real or imagined to be.

Many guests started to pour in in streams, and many familiar faces showed up. They are my ex-classmates , some whom i haven't seen in ages. Upon seeing one another, excited squeals and frantic waving followed suit. It felt good , to see these faces again, once so unpolished and young, but now glazed over by added maturity and stunningness. Everyone looked wonderful, and as we huddled around for some catching-up, it was like back to the old times again, cramped within the art room and bustling with chit-chat and laughter. Everyone is doing well in their own arena, some have started working, some still studying, some in training, and socialising with old friends has moved one notch up the professionalism ladder when they start giving you their namecards. No longer homogenous in our identity as students, we start to see Marketing Executive, Management Associate, Writer for magazine and many fanciful titles gracing the surface of these cards.

Dinner was held in a ballroom. Before it commenced, they showed us video clips and photo montage of Ruth and Vincent (see their studio pics here) over two large screens, made up of a string of photos of the two of them since they were babies, then as they grow, and photos of them together... It was all very sweet as we all went AAWWW... Sweeter even was when Vincent serenaded the song Moon River to Ruth in front of everyone, in his not-Frank Sinatra-voice, yet one that moved everyone, other than Ruth, with its sincerity. Awwww.....

Enough of Aww-ing. One can only be envious of Ruth, as her ex-classmates, such an occassion induced that teeny weeny urge in us to want to be brides ourselves, hee.

But the realisation of such fantasy will not come soon for me. Not yet.
