Ushering The New Year
P.S: Wrote this entry half-way yesterday (31st Dec) and was too pooped to finish, just pretend as if it is yesterday okk..? *wink* (cheated with the date and time above too...hyak hyak...)
As the year 2004 is drawing to a close in less than an hour, it seems appropriate to write a ceremonial entry to mark the end of this year.
Overall, it has been an exciting one, with many “regrettable” damages done, *ouch*, but at the same time so many pleasant turns of events that dotted this year with a dash of vibrant colour. So I shall present to u, the top three Hits and Misses, Most Shocking Events and Resolutions for 2005 in order of degree of merit/severity….: *Drums roll*:
Top 3 MISSES:
1) Accidentally pouring a cup of instant coffee worthed $1 over a $2300 laptop and fizzled it up irreversibly! I deserve the BEST BLOOPER AWARD FOR THIS.
No. of ouchie awarded: *****
2) Splurged $136 on coloring my hair RED which lasted about ermm…ONE WEEK?! They ought to have money-back guarantee for hair-dyeing service! Why no one told me RED is one color that bleeds the MOST EASILY?? Oh , when it met the all-destructive chlorine in the swimming pool, it stood no chance at all…
No. of ouchie awarded:*** and a half
3) Happily left my phone in a cab in rush to catch a happy, brainless movie. Was indeed really happy until i realised I have lost my phone only AFTER the movie. Then i felt as brainless as the movie.
No. of ouchie awarded:***
Top 3 HITS:
1) Went to India for a three week expedition. Had experienced flood, election, hospitality of the locals. Had the most wonderful memories of children running barefooted and performing somersaults on the sand
No. of stars awarded: *****
2) Got my D70! What a fine fine baby, which has opened a third-eye (the lens of the camera) for me to see the world through. Trust me, the world takes on a whole new façade when u view it through the lens.
No. of stars awarded:***** ( 1 and 2 are equally gratifying, so they both at 5 stars, whee…!)
3) Committing to a healthy lifestyle regime of swimming regularly.
No. of stars awarded:****
Top 3 MOST SHOCKING EVENTS:
1) The Asia Tidal Waves.
Horror index awarded: *****
2) The execution of foreigners by Iraqi militia.
Horror index awarded: *****
3) The above two are too gravely horrific that I cannot seem to churn up the third comparable one.
TOP THREE RESOLUTIONS FOR 2005:
1) To be more ORGANISED and CAREFUL...
Priority index:*****
2) To spend more time with family.(Will be leaving for Masters overseas and probably stay at wherever i will be for a couple of years to work, so the clock is ticking...)
Priority index:****
3) To be more healthy and fab-looking!Time to dab those mosturisers and anti-oxidants laden stuff on my face for they say gals start aging from age 25 onwards...urghhh... Mom has been lamenting how heck-care i am with my complexion by exposing myself excessively to sun... Now, ladies and gentlemen, the battle against wrinkles has officially ensued, haha.
