Be the first one to say goodbye....

the person who says goodbye first is usually the luckier one. At least she or he does not need to see the other person leave. In one article wrttten by an author of Taiwan, she says, may it be one minute, she wants to die earlier than her husband, so that she won't feel the pain of his death. Selfish u may say, but it is always better to be the first one to depart...so that u won't feel the sense of abadonment , having to see the diminishing back view of the other person.

in a boy-girl relationship, the first one who departs the relationship is also the lucky one, leaving all the pain and emptiness for the other one to bear, while he or she just dusted the remnants of this forgotten relationship off his/her coat and whisk off, very often in a new partner's arms.

In our family, we daughters and sons are the lucky ones, more often we are so happy being able to get away from home, to pursue what we contemplate as our 'dreams and aspirations', but our parents have to bear the pain of letting us go, to see us fly and not knowing if we will ever find the way back home.

If u ask me, i want to be the one staying behind to watch the person go. Although it can be heart-breaking, but by knowing that she or he will be better off walking away, the heartbreak eventually seems tolerable.....

Who would u rather be? To walk away or to stay behind?
